Omakase in Makati: real prices and what you actually get

Search “omakase Makati” and you will find openings, not peso figures. Here are the prices we can source — including our own — and what you actually sit down to: an 8-course, 90-minute counter seating at ₱8,000, or a named platter if you do not want a timed course.

Eleven-seat hinoki sushi counter at Daimasu, Magallanes, Makati

Short answer

At Daimasu the timed counter course is ₱8,000 per guest: eight courses, 90 minutes, eight of the 11 hinoki seats, with seatings at 17:30 and 20:00. Guests must be 12 or older; a 50% deposit is refunded in full up to 48 hours before and 50% up to 24 hours before. À la carte, Fuku is ₱3,500 for ten pieces, Zen is ₱2,800 for eight, kaisen-don is ₱1,700 and sashimi assortments run ₱2,500–₱3,400. Sushi Kaiseki in a private room is ₱8,000 or ₱10,000 per guest with two days’ notice; VAT is included and 10% service charge is added at the restaurant.

People searching omakase in Makati usually want one number: how much, and for what. Most pages skip the peso figure. The table below is the published range we can source. After it, what ₱8,000 buys at our hinoki counter — and what to order if you do not want a timed course.

What "omakase" means at a Makati counter (and how it differs from a set platter)

Omakase (お任せ) means you leave the next dish to the kitchen. At a sushi counter that is a sequence: the board chooses the fish, cuts it, seasons it and passes it across. You do not pick from a nigiri list. You do not receive ten pieces at once on a wooden tray.

A set platter is a different product. On our card, sushi Fuku (福) is ten premium pieces at ₱3,500 and sushi Zen (善) is eight pieces at ₱2,800. The piece count is fixed before you sit. That is useful in a private room. It is not a course.

A client who asks for “omakase for six” may mean a counter seating, Sushi Kaiseki behind a sliding door, or a Fuku platter each. Those three bookings have three prices, three lead times and three deposits. Name the format before we hold seats.

The physical counter is hinoki, with 11 seats. The timed kaiseki counter course at ₱8,000 uses 8 of those seats. If a message says “book the 11-seat omakase,” we will ask you to pick: the room (11) or the course (8).

What the market charges

No ranking. Figures as published, with a source on every competitor row. Daimasu prices include VAT; 10% service charge is added at the restaurant. Other houses bill on their own terms.

Restaurant Price per guest Source
Kazunori (Chino Roces, Makati) listed from ₱5,500 per head (15-to-22-course counter) Patikim dining guide
Iai (BGC, Taguig) ₱8,900 (sushi omakase) Philippine Primer
Daimasu (Magallanes, Makati) ₱8,000 (8-course counter kaiseki, 90 minutes) reserve.daimasu.com.ph
UMU (Dusit Thani Makati) not published here listed in the MICHELIN Guide Philippines 2026

UMU is in that Guide; we do not invent a peso price for them. Iai is in BGC, not Makati, but it sits in the same Manila search. Primer also lists a kappo omakase at ₱4,500 and a premium omakase from ₱13,500 at Iai; ₱8,900 is the sushi omakase.

Kazunori is on the same Chino Roces Extension, described with a 15-to-22-course omakase at a ten-seat counter. We could not find a price on a channel Kazunori itself controls; the figure above comes from Patikim, a Makati dining guide, read on 7 September 2026 — from ₱5,500 per head. Treat it as a guide listing and confirm with the restaurant. That is also why the Daimasu row links our own booking page: you should be able to see who is publishing each number. Hotel kaiseki is a different meal — Yamazato at Hotel Okura Manila is the named dining room; see kaiseki in Manila.

What the price difference buys

Sourcing. Our fish and wagyu are flown in from Japan. The guide listing for Kazunori also describes Japan-flown seafood. Iai’s published note mixes Japanese and Philippine seasonal produce. Ask any counter to confirm sourcing for the night you book. We do not name a market.

Piece count. Eight courses is not eight nigiri. A kaiseki-shaped counter meal includes soup, a cooked dish, rice and fruit as well as fish. Iai’s sushi omakase, as Primer lists it, runs six to eight small dishes, then five to seven nigiri, then meat and dessert, over about two to two-and-a-half hours. The Kazunori listing puts its omakase at 15 to 22 courses. Fuku is ten nigiri; Zen is eight.

Seats. Our course uses eight seats at an 11-seat counter. Kazunori is listed with ten counter seats, and Primer lists ten at Iai’s chef’s counter for sushi omakase. A private room is for hosting, not watching the board. VIP rooms seat 6–8 and tatami rooms 4–8, held with a 5% deposit and no per-head minimum spend.

Duration. Our counter course is 90 minutes, with a second seating at 20:00. That clock is the product. Plan the car against the hours the restaurant publishes.

Who cuts. At a counter, the next piece is cut and seasoned in front of you. A named platter is counted out as a set. Sushi Kaiseki in a room brings a chef’s selection of nigiri into a kaiseki sequence; composition is not on the card. We do not publish a chef’s name. If the person at the board matters, ask when you book.

Daimasu's counter course in detail

This is a timed seating, not the 11-seat room. It is an eight-seat course inside that room.

  • ₱8,000 per guest
  • 8 courses
  • 90 minutes
  • 8 counter seats
  • Seatings at 17:30 and 20:00
  • Guests aged 12 and above
  • 50% deposit
  • Refund 100% up to 48 hours before, 50% up to 24 hours before
  • Book at reserve.daimasu.com.ph

VAT is included. A 10% service charge is added at the restaurant.

A party of ten cannot sit this course at one board. A party of eight can. A party smaller than eight should still name 17:30 or 20:00; we will confirm empty seats when you book.

Ingredients change with the season and the market. We do not print the eight dishes here. If you need a fixed piece count, use the à la carte sushi below.

The ₱8,000 matches Kaede kaiseki and Sushi Kaiseki 上. Matching prices do not make them the same meal. Kaede is a published kaiseki sequence (starter, clear soup, three fish from Japan, Japanese beef, simmered seafood, rice, pickles, red miso, fruit). Sushi Kaiseki 上 is nigiri inside a kaiseki sequence, composition unpublished, two days’ notice, served in a room. The counter course is the 90-minute, eight-seat, 50% deposit seating. Say which of the three you are booking.

The sushi counter page is the room: 11 hinoki seats. This page is the bill for the timed course that uses eight of them.

If you would rather not sit a course

These are the published sushi prices when you order off the card.

Dish What you get Price
Sushi Fuku (福) 10 premium nigiri ₱3,500
Sushi Zen (善) 8 nigiri ₱2,800
Kaisen-don seafood rice bowl ₱1,700
Sashimi assortment, 5 kinds 五点 ₱3,400
Sashimi assortment, 3 kinds 三点 ₱2,500

Full à la carte is on the menu. VAT included; 10% service charge added at the restaurant.

There is no per-head minimum spend. A private room is held with a 5% deposit of the estimated bill; staff send GCash or bank-transfer instructions within 24 hours. Six guests who need sushi on the table can work from ₱2,800–₱3,500 each on Fuku or Zen, plus whatever else they order.

A course is the right tool when you do not want anyone reading a menu. A platter is the right tool when the budget is the piece count.

Omakase in a private room

Sushi Kaiseki 上 at ₱8,000 per guest and Sushi Kaiseki 特上 at ₱10,000. 特上 uses premium-grade toppings from the day’s fish. Both need two days’ notice. The deposit is 5% of the estimated bill, not the 50% that holds the counter course.

VIP rooms seat 6–8 behind sliding doors. Tatami rooms seat 4–8, shoes off. The large hall seats 16 or divides into two rooms of 8. See private dining and, if you are hosting a client, corporate dining. Whole-restaurant buyout is quoted on request.

This is still omakase in the sense that the kitchen chooses the nigiri. It is not the 17:30 / 20:00 clock and does not use the eight-seat course plan. Staff speak Japanese and English. For a full kaiseki sequence rather than nigiri in a kaiseki frame, Kaede is ₱8,000 and Sakura is ₱12,000 — in the kaiseki in Manila guide.

Daimasu is at Unit A-1/2/3, Ground Floor, Allegro Center, 2284 Chino Roces Avenue Extension, Brgy. Magallanes, Makati City 1231 — about ten minutes by car from the Makati CBD, with building parking, near Magallanes MRT. Tuesday–Sunday 11:00–23:00, Friday and Saturday until 24:00, closed Monday. Smart casual is recommended; tatami rooms are shoes-off. Corkage is ₱1,000 per bottle.

If you want the eight-seat, 90-minute seating, say so in those words. If you want ten pieces each in a VIP room, say Fuku. The sushi counter is the 11-seat room; this page is the price list.

Questions this guide gets asked

How many of the 11 hinoki seats does the ₱8,000 counter course use?

Eight. The hinoki counter has 11 seats; the timed course is an eight-seat seating at 17:30 and 20:00. A party larger than eight cannot sit that course at one board — book a private room and Sushi Kaiseki instead.

Do the peso prices on this page include VAT and service charge?

Daimasu prices include VAT. A 10% service charge is added at the restaurant. How Kazunori, Iai or UMU print their bills is their own policy; confirm with them when you book.

Is the ₱8,000 counter course the same meal as Sushi Kaiseki 上?

They share a price, not a booking. The counter course is eight courses, 90 minutes, eight seats, a 50% deposit and a 17:30 or 20:00 start. Sushi Kaiseki 上 is a chef’s selection of nigiri inside a kaiseki sequence, composition not published, two days’ notice, a 5% deposit, served in a room.

Can I order Fuku or Zen instead of the timed 17:30 or 20:00 course?

Yes. Fuku is ₱3,500 for ten premium nigiri; Zen is ₱2,800 for eight; kaisen-don is ₱1,700; sashimi assortments are ₱2,500 or ₱3,400. Those are à la carte lines, not the 90-minute counter seating.

What should a booking message include besides date and headcount?

Whether you want the counter course (17:30 or 20:00), Sushi Kaiseki in a private room, or platters; a budget per guest if you have one; and any dish to exclude. For the counter course, confirm that every guest is aged 12 or above.
